Job Description

Forklift Systems is looking for a skilled and motivated Shop Technician to join our service team. In this role, you’ll perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment at our facility. You’ll ensure that all work meets quality and safety standards, helping us deliver dependable service our customers can trust.


Day-to-day responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; conducting inspections; performing scheduled maintenance; and interpreting service manuals and technical bulletins. You will also maintain detailed repair logs, track parts usage, and assist the parts department with receiving and restocking inventory when needed.


This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Whether you're an experienced technician or a recent trade school graduate with applied skills, this position offers excellent long-term potential within a stable, customer-focused company.


Job Requirements
  • 2+ years of relevant mechanical experience or recent trade school graduate with applied technical skills
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, with working knowledge of industrial electricity and hydraulics preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical bulletins
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and work in varied physical environments (indoors and outdoors)
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
